Coleshill In Bloom 2008

Coleshill In Bloom 2008

The Coleshill in Bloom Window Display Competition judge, Elizabeth Buck, had difficulty picking an outright winner as she found herself with two favourites. In the end she announced them joint winners, one of which was Waters & Co. Solicitors and Estate Agents.

“We are absolutely thrilled. We hope our efforts contribute to another Gold Medal for the town when the results are announced in September” said Teresa Waters, a Partner in the firm.

“Everyone chipped in with ideas and practical help and, with all the doom and gloom about the economy, it has been a refreshing change to just do something for fun. Our window attracted many extra visitors looking at our model village based (with some artistic licence) on Coleshill Town. Hopefully, they spared a glance at our properties for sale at the same time,” added Teresa.

The model village was a miniature of the short run of High Street shops where Waters & Co. are based plus the Church, with bride and groom on the steps. There were also some miniature houses with small “For Sale” and “Sold” signs in their gardens. The road between the houses and shops was dotted with some Dinky cars and miniature people, including a family crossing the pedestrian crossing, and a lady looking at the houses displayed in Waters & Co’s window.

“The window display was a team effort” explained Teresa, “Jonathan Cooke, our Estate Agency Manager, took the photographs of the shops and our For Sale board and miniaturised them on the computer; Amanda Murtagh, Conveyancing Assistant, provided a large number of the ornamental houses from her personal collection; Mandy Sparrow, Legal Secretary provided the Dinky cars from her four son’s large collection; Gill Barry, Sales Negotiator, assisted with the floral displays; Lesley Snowdon, Conveyancing Manager, plus Lynda Robinson, Personal Assistant and myself set about making the properties, laying out the design and dressing the window”.

Thank you Waters & Co. for your sterling effort in supporting Coleshill in Bloom. Anything which helps to make Coleshill a brighter and better place to work, live and shop must be worthwhile.
